Is it better to get an electric car or gas car

Running a gas car is at this stage more convenient than an electric car as there is more petrol station available around and gas car have a better range (km).
Also they are cheaper to buy.

On average an electric car have a range of 300 Km some less.
Also the time of charging the car is at least 25 minutes but for full charge it require at least an hour.
This could be an issue if you are in a huury to go somewhere and your battery nearly flat.
You have to plan ahead to make sure your car is topped up.
The EV batteries do best when they operate in the 30% to 90% range for state of charge so you have to avoid leaving them below 30% that would affect the battery life span.

They are more of a car to drive in the city.

Driving wise Electric car are more responsive when you push the accelerator as the power go straight to the wheel.
There is no combustion system and transmition.

Electric car have less moving parts and are more efficient which require less maintenance so you should be able to save on yearly maintenance (oil change, coolant, filters).

Over the long term electric vehicles are often cheaper to run than comparable gas-powered vehicles. “The reason is that the lower fuel costs of EVs relative to gasoline-fueled cars.
This help compensate for the higher vehicle costs of EVs.

By choosing to drive an EV you are helping to reduce harmful air pollution from exhaust emissions. An EV has zero exhaust emissions.

Other benefits:Reduced exhaust emissions is good for our health and better air quality will be healthier to be around.
EVs are also quieter than petrol/diesel vehicles, which means less noise pollution.

Depending on what type of car you are looking for it might be interesting to start having a look at the EV's offers as more car will be produced and soon they should start to get chaper.
